Latin American magnates met in Cartagena, Colombia, this past Tuesday to Thursday. Among the select list of participants were Carlos Slim of México; Julio Mario Santo Domingo of Colombia; Carlos Ardila, Gustavo Sarmiento, Paolo Rocca, Federico Braun and Alfredo Román from Argentina; Andrónico Luksic and Álvaro Saieh from Chile; Joao Marinho, David Feffer and Antonio Moreira, from Brazil; the Central American Stanley Motta, as well as others.

Alvaro Noboa Travels Around the World Looking for New Markets

Former presidential candidate for PRIAN (Institutional Renewal Party of National Action), Alvaro Noboa, said that he travels the world seeking new markets for Ecuadorian products.

He does this because "the economic crisis that is crossing the country," explains in a statement, the three-time candidate for presidency.

Noboa said that he had been in the U.S., Western and Eastern Europe and in Zagreb with Croatian and Macedonian customers.

"Today we are visiting markets in Eastern Europe, China, India, because every day citizens of these countries want to consume more and more food, and Ecuador can give it to them," he says.

In an interview for a written media, he said that Ecuador suffers from a "cancer of internal crisis," which forced the Attorney to visit several countries that have invited him to invest in their countries.

Although he did not talk about political issues, Noboa criticized the regime of Rafael Correa because he does not encourage the development of productive sectors such as bananas, cocoa, among others.

Finally, the entrepreneur asserted that the Government does not give credit lines, and he thinks that Correa pursued to businessmen on tax areas.

"I would not enter politics because it will divert my message: In Ecuador we have to open new markets, " he said.
